The equipment for the second phase of the “Velta” Company’s ilmenite facility will be supplied by “Outotec”

At the beginning of February “Velta” (the company which is developing the Birzulovo deposit of ilmenite (Novomirgorod district, Kirovograd region) signed a contract with the Outotec company (Finland) for supplying beneficiation equipment (separators) that is to be used in the second phase of the facility with the aim of increasing the total production capacity of the enterprise.

“The consignment is expected to arrive in the middle of summer 2012 and will come from South Africa” – informed Andriy Brods’kiy – general director of “Velta”.

The start of the second phase of the facility is scheduled for autumn of 2012. The first phase of the facility was officially opened and put into operation on 27 December 2011. The total amount of the investments in 2011 was about 90 mln USD. About 80 mln USD of that sum was invested in the first phase of the “Velta” Company’s facility, while the remaining part of the sum was directed into the development of the second phase.
