The mining and beneficiation facility of the “Velta” company increased its annual capacity to 300 thousand ton

15 July “Velta” laid down the founding capsule and started the construction of the second stage of the beneficiation plant on the basis of the mining and beneficiation facility for mining and processing of ilmenite from the Birzulovo deposit (Novomirgorod district, Kirovograd region). This will allow increasing the annual output of the facility to 300 thousand tons of ilmenite concentrate.

The second stage components will include the new gravity processing building and the reconstructed adjustment unit; as a result the capacity of the enterprise will be increased by more than 1.5 times.

“The run in of the second stage of the enterprise is the next phase of its planned development. After its start the company’s mining and beneficiation facility will annually produce to 300 thousand tons of the ilmenite concentrate”, - announced Andriy Brodsky, general director of the “Velta” company during the celebration of the Workers’ Day of the metallurgical and mining industry.

The construction was scheduled to e finished in the fourth quarter of 2012. The planned investments for the second stage of the Birzulovo deposit facility approached 10 million USD. As a result the number of jobs for the district residents was increased by one hundred.

It is worth reminding: the mining and beneficiation facility was put into operation in December 2011, the first commercial-scale shipments were started in April 2012.

Reference: The production-commercial company “Velta” was established in 2000 with the purpose of developing the Birzulovo ilmenite deposit in the vicinity of the Korobchino village (Novomirgorod district, Kirovograd region). The general director of the company and the initiator of the deposit development is Andriy Brodsky. The total number of the created work places is 400.
