“Velta” will increase the production capacity of the ilmenite mining and beneficiation facility by 30 %

In 2012 “Velta” will increase the production capacity of the mining and beneficiation facility for mining and processing of the ilmenite sands (Novomirgorod district, Kirovograd region) by 30%.

This was announced by the general director of the Company Andriy Brods’kiy. He said that the enterprise will be put into operation in November-December 2011, while already in 2012 the second phase of the facility will be built, and as a result of this the annual concentrate production output in the following year will be increased from 185 thousand mt to 240 thousand mt.

“The scheduled design work for additional installations has already been in the process of fulfillment, while the construction of the second phase of the beneficiation plant is planned for 2012. As a result, the titanium ore production capacity of the Company will be increased by 30 % and will reach 240 thousand mt per year; this approximately equals 2 % of the world output of ilmenite” – said A. Brods’kiy.

It is reasonable to remind that at the beginning of 2011 “Velta” began the construction of that facility for the development of the Birzulovo ilmenite deposit in the vicinity of the Korobchino village, Novomirgorod district, Kirovograd region. Andriy Brods’kiy is the general director of the Company and the initiator of the deposit development. The planned number of personnel at the facility is 450 persons.
